These violas were volunteers growing under some plants I was moving. They are quite an unusual lemon yellow colour and I don't remember ever having one like this but I suppose I must have done. I hope I've saved the plant to put somewhere else but cut some flowers to enjoy for now.
A quick dash out between showers for this second vase.
In the vase:
Pyracantha which attacks whenever we try to get to our shed but is in full bloom just now.
A few Nigella not quite open yet. Impatient, me?
Sweet pink Sweet William
Parsley again - it's really coming out this week.
Cirsium - I don't know how it will last in a vase but I'll find out now.
Both are very pretty, Alison. I love the new-to-me burgundy Cirsium. I hope you find they do well in the vase - they make such a nice complement for the Dianthus.

ReplyDeleteBlue and yellow is always a winner. I went to buy blue and yellow for one of my pots and came back with dark red and silver. Hmm.

DeleteWhat an astonishly clear and plain yellow viola - which looks spot on with the blue jug. And the froth of the unopened nigella in your second vase is especially fetching, along with the parsley. Do let us know how the cirsium does
