I just wanted to congratulate Cathy on 6 years of blogging and hopefully make you smile with this picture.
The ducks' pond is frozen but they dive into this bowl instead and you can see how the water freezes instantly. There are icicles round the outside. They don't seem to care but it makes me chilly just looking. Sometimes they both get in together.
The sun has come out and snow is melting but I think it will be a few days before the largest drifts are gone.
Thanks Cathy (Rambling in the Garden) for inspiring us and letting us follow your garden developments.
Can just see a purple feather... otherwise completely black. Hope the snow goes away soon!

DeleteDelightful Ducks! Or Whackers as they are called in our family- What breed are they, they look pretty? I have a soft spot for ducks, my Dad had a huge duck pond with lots of different breeds living on it.
ReplyDeleteThey are Black East Indian ducks. The feathers have an green iridescent sheen to them and sometimes they look purple. I'd love a large pond for them. They have a bath just now and we are working on a filtering system!

ReplyDeleteI seem to have spent the last few weeks changing water or breaking ice for birds. The novelty has worn off. They need water with their food or they choke.
