Crazy tulips In a Vase on Monday

It seemed a shame not to share these mad Tulips. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting when I ordered them.

They are definitely eye catching and the petals are gorgeous and look like satin.

Some are cream and some are white so I'm not sure if there are two types here or a variation.
The red and white are 'Estella Rynveld' and the others might be 'Flaming Parrot' but the markings don't look right so that's probably wrong.

Enjoy.

  1. Crazy indeed and how curious that some are white and some are cream - did you think there were two varieties planted there? They might be crazy but I like them. I am still waiting for one of my varieties to flower and I am not convinced they are going to be what I expected them to be! Thanks for sharing today

    1. No I thought they were all the same. It's all a bit of a lottery finding out if you've got what you ordered but keeps it interesting.

  2. For some reason I don't usually like striped flowers but these are an exception, Alison. The stripes mesh well with those frayed edge petals - mad but in a good way!

  4. I am sure I saw tulips like these in the old master paintings in Amsterdam....they are wonderful and with that black backdrop photographed to great advantage.

    1. You can see why people went mad for the bulbs. It's piece of card which I use to cut out the door, curtain, radiator, cups of tea and other stuff left lying around.

  5. Super tulips - Estella Rynveld is definitely one to try. And beautifully photographed with the black backdrop - I did, indeed, enjoy!

  6. Wonderful! I love parrot tulips and have grown Estella in the past too.
